Daily Duties

1. “Just as the Book of Mormon makes the charge plain to us, it also directs us upward on the path to eternal life... But the effect of the Book of Mormon on your character, power, and courage to be a witness for God is certain. The doctrine and the valiant examples in that book will lift, guide, and embolden you.”
-Henry B. Eyring, “A Witness” Oct. 2011 Sunday AM Session

2. “There is no such thing as overpreparing to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, for gospel insights, whether or not they are used during class time, can always be taught in the home.”
-L. Tom Perry, “Mothers Teaching Children in the Home” April. 2010 General Conference

3. “The greatest compliment that can be earned here in this life is to be known as a covenant keeper.”
-Russell M. Nelson, “Covenants” Oct. 2011 Sunday PM Session

4. “To be guileless is to have a childlike innocence, to be slow to take offense and quick to forgive.”
-Robert D. Hales, “Christian Courage: The Price of Discipleship” Oct. 2008 General Conference

5. “This means that we must be willing to let others know whom we follow and to whose Church we belong: the Church of Jesus Christ. We certainly want to do this in the spirit of love and testimony. We want to follow the Savior by simply and clearly, yet humbly, declaring that we are members of His Church. We follow Him by being Latter-day Saints—latter-day disciples.”
-M. Russell Ballard, “The Importance of a Name” Oct. 2011 Sunday AM Session

6. “Because scriptures are generated from inspired communication through the Holy Ghost, they are pure truth. ...Scriptures are like packets of light that illuminate our minds and give place to guidance and inspiration from on high.”
-Richard G. Scott, “The Power of Scripture” Oct. 2011 Saturday AM Session

7. “We are promised that if we pray sincerely for that which is right and good and in accordance with God’s will, we can be blessed, protected, and directed.”
-David A. Bednar, “Pray Always” Oct. 2008 General Conference

8. "I energetically encourage you to establish a personal study plan to better understand and appreciate the incomparable, eternal, infinite consequences of Jesus Christ’s perfect fulfillment of His divinely appointed calling as our Savior and Redeemer. Profound personal pondering of the scriptures accompanied by searching, heartfelt prayer will fortify your understanding of and appreciation for His priceless Atonement."
-Richard G. Scott, "He Lives! All Glory to His Name!" April 2010 General Conference

9. "None of us will ever be so lost that we cannot find our way again through His teachings."
-M. Russell Ballard, April 2012 Sunday PM Session

10. "Being a disciple in these days of destiny will be a badge of honor in the eternities."
-Neil. L. Anderson, April 2012 Sunday PM Session

Why This Matters:
There are so many things that add up to an end result. In the Gospel, the things we do daily are of great significance--scripture study, temple attendance, meaningful prayer, kindness to others. Each of these daily decisions determine our destiny. The small choices we are making add up to be who we are. I know that, for me, I want that person to be someone of eternal consequence and divine capacity.
